Bean Curd

Make 20 bowls

Ingredients:

300g soya beans
3 litres water
1 tsp gypsum powder
20g corn flour
100ml water

Method:
  1. After washing the soya beans, soak it for at least 6 hours and pour the excess water away. After which, pour the soya beans into the blender and pour in 3 litres of water to blend.
  2. Pour the blended soya beans into the cloth bag and squeeze out soya milk.
  3. After removing the residue, boil the soya milk using a pot. After boiling, cook for another 5 mins to remove the "fishy" taste.
  4. Mix well and filter gysum powder, corn flour and water before pouring into the bottom of the insulated dispenser.
  5. Pour the boiled soya milk into the insulated dispenser and wail for 30 mins. By then it would have solidified into bean curd.
  6. Scrape off the top layer of residue and it is ready to be eaten with sugar syrup.

I love fried been curd. Every single time my husband treats me out to chinese I always have it with oyster sauce and shitake mushrooms.

Not only does it taste so good, it's also very nutritious!
