Steamed Sugar Cake


1 9-inch square baking tin
200g sifted rice flour
4ooml water
1tsp dry yeast (mix with 1tsp warm water)
1/2tsp double action baking powder


170g sugar

  • Grease baking tin and line with greaseproof paper.
  • Combine rice flour with water and Seasoning. Mix will.
  • Cook rice flour mixture over low heat, stirring constantly till the mixture thickens. Strain the mixture, let cool then add the yeast and baking powder. Mix well and set aside for 8 hours.
  • Pour the mixture into the baking tin and steam over high heat for 25 minutes. Let cool and cut into pieces. Serve.
